Vietnam Filmmaker was founded with a deep passion for filmmaking and a mission to make this opportunity accessible to young people in Vietnam who love cinema but lack resources. As a nonprofit organization, we are dedicated to offering free filmmaking classes, driven by our belief that everyone deserves a chance to share their voice and story.

From the start, we recognized the power of visual storytelling to express emotions, capture life, and connect communities. Our goal is to provide not only technical filmmaking skills but also the confidence to explore creativity and tell unique stories.

We’ve seen our students' growth and passion through their short films, which inspires us to expand our program, offer more learning opportunities, and build a vibrant filmmaking community in Vietnam. Activities

Free Training

Video editing

Our Video Editing program covers the key techniques for crafting polished, professional videos. Students will learn how to use editing software, cut and assemble footage, enhance visuals, and apply sound design. With practical exercises and expert feedback, you'll develop the skills to produce seamless and engaging video content.

Filming

Our Filming program focuses on the practical aspects of capturing high-quality video. Participants will learn essential techniques for camera operation, shot composition, lighting, and sound recording. Through hands-on experience, you'll gain the skills needed to create visually compelling and technically proficient films.

Screenwriting

Our Screenwriting program offers in-depth training in crafting engaging scripts for film and television. Students will explore story structure, character development, dialogue writing, and screenplay formatting. Through practical exercises and expert feedback, you'll develop your unique voice and gain the skills to create compelling and well-structured scripts.

Production design

Our Production Design program explores the art of creating visual environments that enhance storytelling. Participants will learn how to design and build sets, select props, and create costumes that bring a film's world to life. The program emphasizes the integration of design elements to support the narrative and mood of the production.

Directing

Our Directing program teaches the art of guiding a film’s vision from script to screen. Students will learn techniques for working with actors, managing a set, and shaping performances to achieve a cohesive and compelling story. The program includes practical exercises in directing scenes, fostering creativity, and honing leadership skills on set.
